ABOUT US

History of the Club

The Ski Club was originally founded by Windsor industrial powerhouse Combustion Engineering in 1947. The Club began as a group of recreational snow skiers who joined together in order to know some familiar faces on the ski slopes of New England. From this modest beginning the Ski Club then joined up with the Connecticut Ski Council (CSC).

The CSC consists of many regional clubs in CT, MA, RI, NY, and NJ. Skiers & snowboarders of all ages, families and singles, young and old, all enjoy the benefits of being in a member club of the CSC, including discounts on skiing & riding, trips, lodging, lessons & racing. The CSC sponsors and runs inter-club competitions, and promotes club activity both on and off the snow.

One of the inter-club competitions is the CT Industrial Ski Council Adult Recreational Racing. The CE Ski Club races at Ski Sundown mountain on Tuesday nights on a NASTAR style race course.
